Anthroposophical Society
How can I find a true connection to my essential nature, to my karma, my social surroundings and my environment that will allow me act in a coherent manner and find my place in a world that is becoming more and more complex? Anthroposophy was founded by Rudolf Steiner at the beginning of the 20th century with this question in mind and has inspired many socially relevant initiatives in many different fields.
Rudolf Steiner House Stuttgart is a centre for cultural activities. The House is host to congresses, conferences, seminars, workshops and artistic presentations, all with an anthroposophical focus. In addition, Rudolf Steiner House is the administration headquarters for the German Anthroposophical Society and for other initiatives such as CampusA.

Anthroposophy
Anthroposophy or anthroposophically oriented spiritual science was founded by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925). It is an attempt to bring back to consciousness the repressed and forgotten treasures of Western spirituality in a modern form.
Anthroposophy encompasses methods of knowledge, applied knowledge, as well as ways of living. With the development of the one sided technological and materialistic advances of Western culture and civilization, a need has arisen to complement Western culture with spiritual content and new ways of life
The materialistic focus of Western civilization has lead to a fixation solely on the experiences between birth and death. With scientific inquiry basing itself on an increasingly materialistic-positivistic foundation, all ideas that do not submit themselves to these restrictive modern scientific research methods are excluded from discussion.

The Anthroposophical Society
Today, there is an Anthroposophical Society in almost every country in the world. They form where people are looking to imbue their lives with a spiritual content. This content can manifest as a feeling of purpose, a question, or a desire. Anthroposophy enables one to experience concretely the reality of a spiritual world, and this reality can then be a guide in one´s practical day to day life. Anthroposophy is focuses on continual development.
Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925), the founder of Anthroposophy, saw Anthroposophy as fostering human dignity through the development of consciousness. The more complex modern civilization becomes, the more important it is that a space is created for every single human being to carry out their own unique life paths, no matter where one is born, or in which culture one grows up, or what education one has received. This objective is one that falls on society to help realise.
This aim is the focus of the Anthroposophical Society. It is a place where Anthroposophy can facilitate a creative dialogue, where the experiences of one can help the development of the other.
The Anthroposophical Societies are structured into national, regional and local groups. The world headquarters are at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. At its core is the School for Spiritual Science. The different sections of this School carry out spiritual scientific research that can lead to a deepening in the corresponding life and subject fields. Practical and conceptual questions are examined – in Pedagogy, Medicine, Art, or Agriculture – and the sections accompany or provide support for institutions and initiatives.
The membership of the German Anthroposophical Society is the biggest in the world and is composed of ten regional centres, with each centre consisting of numerous branches and working groups.
